One of the most critical parts of a successful project is making sure that everyone knows what is expected and when it should be completed. The kickoff meeting is meant to do just that. No matter how big or small a project is, all stakeholders should be aware that the project is moving forward and what the role in the project will be.

Things change and evolve during a project. Our goal at Plan North Engineers is to keep ahead of the project, and proactively maintain our role. This can mean weekly planning meetings for larger projects, or feasibility conversations on smaller projects.

Milestones are setup at the beginning of the project to ensure ongoing attention to the project so that all aspects of the design are thoroughly planned and calculated. The milestone meetings are also setup so that stakeholders that aren’t in the day to day are made aware of the evolution of the project and ensure that all parties are in agreement with regard to the day to day decisions that come about during the regular communications.

One of the most critical steps in the project is coming together at the end. At Plan North Engineers, this is where we review the project scope and verify that we have met and exceeded the expectations of our clients.

Beyster Residence is a complete teardown of two existing projects and the rebuild of a new single-family residence overlooking the beautiful Torrey Pines Reserve in Del Mar, California. This was a fully integrated BIM Project.
